Vendor Information

Vendors are invited to display informational/educational materials and/or items for sale that fall within the guidelines of the Economic Development Committee of the 5th Congress of the African People’s Socialist Party. See policies below.

Dates and times for vending opportunities:
Limited space is available for vending opportunities from 9 am to 5 pm Saturday, July 10th and Sunday, July 11th.

There are three ways to apply for vendor space:

All applications and payments must be received online or have arrived at the office in Washington, DC by July 2, 2010.

Vendor fees:
$50.00 for BOTH DAYS.
$30.00 for ONE DAY.
Make money order out to “Uhuru.” Vendor fees are non-refundable.

Booth space:
Space is available on a first come, first serve basis. There is limited space, so reserve early. The Vendor Coordinator will assign Booth spaces. Uhuru will provide one 8-foot table. Vendors must provide their own signage and displays. We require table coverage to be an African fabric. All vendor tables will be located in the Banquet Hall where all the Congress activities take place.

Set-Up and breakdown:
Vendor set-up: 8:00am – 8:30 am each day
Selling hours: 9am – 5:00pm
Vendor breakdown: 6:00 pm

Meals:
Kellogg Conference Hotel does not allow outside food to be brought into the facilities. The hotel makes breakfast and lunch available for purchase.

Vendor policies:

  • Vendors must breakdown at the end of each day. Vendors must take all items, including trash, packing boxes, and unwanted wares with them when they leave.
  • Vendors should limit sales activities to their general booth area. Vendors must keep their wares within the boundaries of their assigned space. Vendors shall not use amplified sound at their booth.
  • Vendor activities must not intervene with the Congress presentations and discussions.
  • Any logistical problems or grievances should be brought to the attention of the coordinator.
  • The Congress Economic Development Committee reserves the right to decline participation of vendors that do not fit the vending purpose or criteria for participation.
  • No items can be displayed or sold that are deemed offensive to the African or indigenous communities or to women. Any vendor not in compliance with the policies may be asked by the coordinator to leave. No refund will be given.
  • No food or drink sales are permitted.
